BigTown 2025: Celebrating 25 years of art, dialogue, and community engagement
In 2025, BigTown proudly marks 25 years of community programming—honoring a quarter-century of creativity, connection, and collaboration in rural central Vermont.
This milestone year celebrates the artists, writers, architects, photographers, photojournalists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who have shaped BigTown’s mission and helped foster meaningful dialogue around climate change, social and environmental justice, community development, war, and scientific discovery.
We’re thrilled to announce a special summer series in partnership with Kyle Bergman, founder of the Architecture & Design Film Festival—three immersive gatherings featuring film, food, and conversation centered around community building, activism, and innovation. Including the return of our My Place Photography Workshop led again by Jim Dow and Cassandra Klos.
Join Us for BigTown 2025 help support our fundraising goal of $25,000

BigTown Gallery has been immersed in a region rich in solitary art-makers working in a creative alternative culture for over 20 years. Initially drawn to and inspired by several artists educated following WWII by the influential GI Bill (hugely instrumental in founding the region's prestigious MFA programs), BigTown has long sought to highlight the significance of these artists’ contributions to the contemporary art world, exhibiting works from the span of their careers in art to a regional audience.
Moving into its third decade, through its non-profit BigTown Projects, the gallery space features exhibitions dedicated to those contemporary artists working to educate us about our changing world. A core group of artists continue to be supported by BigTown Gallery.
Art can be purchased through the BT—VT website, through exhibitions at the Stable, the gallery and at art fairs.
